Multi-Agency Traffic Team conducts 'Operation Boom Truck' to catch red-light violators

On August 3, 2009, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office conducted a target red-light operation dubbed "Operation Boom Truck" along with other members of the Clackamas County's Multi-Agency Traffic Team.

The mission of this high-visibility enforcement was to reduce crashes caused by commuters failing to stop at their respective red light. Photos were taken of violations from an elevated boom truck by an undercover deputy who provided the information to ground units who took enforcement action.

Traffic members from Milwaukie Police, Lake Oswego Police, West Linn Police, Canby Police, and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Motor Unit participated.

The results are as follows:


I am happy to say that at this intersection of enhanced patrols there were no fatalities or injury crashes.
