Posted: May 17, 2008 4:44 p.m.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, Members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol -- along with Search & Rescue personnel, Oregon City Police, Gladstone Police, and fire rescue personnel -- responded to the High Rocks area of the Clackamas River.

Fishermen had reported that a small, inflatable canoe had capsized -- sending the three occupants into the swift and frigid water.

Two of the occupants were described as a young child and adult wearing personal flotation devices. They were safely picked up by the fishermen.

An additional older male adult was also in the craft. He was also reportedly wearing a personal floatation device at the time of this boating mishap -- but was not initially located.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel remained on the scene and continued with search efforts -- successfully locating the missing male adult. He was described as "safe." There are no additional details available at this time.
