Sheriff's Office investigates armed robbery of coffee shop on Sunnyside in Clackamas; tips sought

On Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at 6:06 p.m., an armed robbery event was reported at the Starbucks, located at 9078 SE Sunnyside Road in Clackamas, in the Clackamas Promenade.

This armed male suspect reportedly demanded money from a Starbucks employee while armed with a handgun. Witnesses report that the suspect then fled the Starbucks on foot; he was last observed moving in the direction of SE Sunnyside Road.

No injuries were reported.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies -- including a Sheriff's Office K-9 team -- converged swiftly on the crime scene to search for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

The robbery suspect is described as follows:

An armed Robbery in the First Degree is considered a Measure 11 felony crime in the State of Oregon.

Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating.
