WILSONVILLE -- On Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies (serving as Wilsonville Police) recognized an allegedly stolen vehicle involved in a pursuit minutes earlier with Woodburn Police. The vehicle and its two occupants were believed to be associated with an armed robbery reported in Marion County over the weekend.

Woodburn Police had engaged this suspect vehicle in a pursuit, but lost track of the stolen vehicle in the Aurora area at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Wilsonville deputies spotted the suspect vehicle near Arbor Grove Road and Crosby Road at 1:59 a.m. This vehicle failed to yield to emergency lights, and deputies entered into a brief pursuit. The vehicle fled to the NE Eilers Road area.

Deputies found the vehicle abandoned by the two male occupants, who had fled the scene on foot, escaping into the darkness.

Extensive coverage and containment was established in this area by law-enforcement personnel from the Marion County and Clackamas County Sheriff's Offices.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., one male subject was apprehended by Clackamas County deputies ground-searching in the area of 16399 NE Eilers Road in Aurora. The apprehended subject was transported from the scene by Marion County authorities. Media outlets should contact the Marion County Sheriff's Office for further identifying information.

The recovered stolen vehicle was seized as evidence by Marion County Sheriff's Office investigators, and was towed from the scene for forensic processing.

The second male subject observed fleeing from the vehicle was not located by law-enforcement personnel.

Any further inquiries concerning this investigation should be referred to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
