On Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, a North Clackamas School District teacher was arrested by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators on suspicion of Theft in the First Degree.

In September, a Sheriff's Office detective first met with North Clackamas School District Human Resources Director Marla Shuman, who was reporting thefts of multiple computers belonging to the School District.

Shuman identified the suspect believed responsible for these computer-related thefts as Douglas Adam-McKenna Wade, age 43, of Portland.

Wade had been employed by the School District for 15 years, and was a teacher at Mount Scott Elementary in Happy Valley.

The Sheriff's Office detective assigned to this investigation reports that Wade is believed to have been sold school-district computer parts on eBay.

Wade is described as an employee who had access to school computers as part of his assigned duties within the North Clackamas School District.

As a result of this ongoing Sheriff's Office investigation, enough probable cause was determined to make an arrest. On Monday, Oct. 26 at 11:30 a.m., Douglas Wade was arrested at his place of residence, located on SE 90th in Happy Valley.

Wade was lodged in Clackamas County Jail on the charge of Theft in the First Degree -- a Class C felony in the State of Oregon.

Douglas Wade is expected to be arraigned on these matters in Clackamas County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m.
