Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigates extensive thefts at Wilsonville Chevrolet dealership

Posted: June 1, 2008, 3 p.m.

On Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 12:45 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit was summoned to the Wilsonville Chevrolet automobile dealership (26051 SW Boones Ferry Road, Wilsonville).

Today (Sunday, June 1), employees of this automobile dealership discovered that windows had been smashed and expensive "navigator radio systems" had been stolen from at least 26 new automobiles parked on the dealership lot.

The Wilsonville Chevrolet management reports that sometime on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, thieves entered the lot and smashed vehicle windows to gain access to the vehicle interiors and remove elaborate navigation radio systems.

Wilsonville Chevrolet reports that the total loss is estimated between $70,000 and $100,000.

Wilsonville Chevrolet manager Kevin Knopf is on-scene and available for comment.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating -- and is offering a reward for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for this aggravated theft.
