THIRTY CITED IN HOLIDAY MINOR-ALCOHOL SWEEP
On Friday, Dec. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 29 between 4 and 10 p.m., a multi-agency investigative team conducted an alcohol-sales compliance detail in Clackamas County.
This investigative sweep targeted the purchase of alcoholic beverages by underage teens. The team comprised:
Supervised Cadets -- ranging in age from 16 to 22 -- attempted to purchase alcohol at 103 package stores throughout Clackamas County. During the sweep, 30 sales to minors were documented -- with 30 citations issued to sales clerks for Furnishing Alcohol to Minors.
Per ORS 471.410, furnishing liquor to a minor is a Class A misdemeanor -- with a mandatory minimum fine of $350.00 for first-time offenders.
Team members thank all the Cadets who volunteered their time for this important detail.
