At 2:37 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2001, investigators from the Clackamas County Inter-agency Task Force, Clackamas County Community Corrections and the Portland Police Bureau searched a residence located at 7985 SE Stephanie Ct. in Milwaukie.
This search was part of an effort to locate Steven Kevin Cervantes, 21 (pictured at left) -- a known gang associate with an extensive criminal history who failed to report to his corrections supervisor and has a pending arrest warrant for his parole violation.
Steven Cervantes, 21, is described as a Hispanic male, 5'11" tall, 195 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. (A photo is linked above.) He is also a suspect in a domestic disturbance that occurred earlier in the week at the SE Stephanie Court address. Cervantes is suspected of pointing a firearm at a female and threatening to kill her, then driving with the victim into Portland, where he allegedly pulled her hair and physically kicked her out of the car.
The Portland Police Bureau was present during Friday's search to possibly interview Cervantes regarding the domestic-violence allegations.
Although investigators were unable to locate 21-year-old Steven Cervantes at the residence, they did find his father present inside the Stephanie Court home. The father is identified as Arturo Cervantes-Valencia, age 40.
Arturo Cervantes-Valencia (pictured at left) is a convicted felon for an illegal re-entry into the United States. He also has an established criminal history involving assault and an assortment of felony drug crimes. Valencia allowed investigators to search the house; however, he refused to cooperate further in locating his son Steven.
During the search of the residence on Friday, Arturo Cervantes-Valencia was found to be in possession of meth, a fully loaded shotgun in the living room of the residence, a loaded .380 handgun in his nightstand, and an additional fully loaded 9-mm handgun next to his bed.
Valencia is a convicted felon, and is not allowed by law to possess firearms.
Investigators also located and seized as evidence scales, packaging and a cutting agent. Valencia is an admitted meth user.
As a result of this investigation, Arturo Cervantes-Valencia was transported to and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on the following criminal charges:
Cervantes-Valencia is scheduled to appear on these matters on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 3 p.m. in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
AUTHORITIES STILL SEEK STEVEN CERVANTES, URGE CAUTION
Authorities are still seeking Steven Kevin Cervantes in connection with their domestic-disturbance investigation and the pending arrest warrant. He is a known gang member believed to be driving his father's white Acura Legend with California license plate 6EYF914.
Cervantes is believed to be actively avoiding law-enforcement contact. He is likely to be in possession of (or have access to) firearms.
Portland Police Officer Doris Paisley would like to be contacted if Cervantes is located. Her number is 503-823-4800.
Clackamas County Community Corrections Parole & Probation Officer Bryan Smith will issue a Probation Detainer Warrant if Cervantes is located prior to the pending arrest-warrant activation. His phone number is (503) 655-8716 / 655-8211.
