Sheriff's Office detectives arrest martial-arts instructor for alleged sex abuse

On Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at 9:14 a.m., Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested William "Brent" Mullens, age 37, at his residence, located at 11484 SE Fuller Road, in Milwaukie, Oregon. (A booking photo is linked above.)
Earlier this week, Sheriff's Office detectives received information that William Mullens (best known as "Brent Mullens") may have sexually abused two of his minor male students.
Mullens is a martial-arts instructor and proprietor of the Northwest Martial Arts studio, located at 13175 SE Sunnyside Rd. in Clackamas.
Sheriff's Office detectives promptly conducted a criminal investigation of these sex-abuse allegations -- resulting in today's arrest of Mullens (without incident) at his SE Fuller Road residence. Mullens was then transported to the Clackamas County Jail and lodged on the following charges:
- Sex Abuse in the First Degree
- Sex abuse in the Third Degree
Bail is set at $257,500.
Mullens is scheduled for arraignment on this matter on Friday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
William "Brent" Mullens has no prior criminal history recorded in law-enforcement databases.
ADDITIONAL TIPS SOUGHT
Based on these serious allegations of sex abuse involving Mullens and minor-aged male martial-arts students, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detectives are concerned other victims may exist. The Sheriff's Office urges other potential victims to come forward.
