Rose City Corvettes donate bears, blankets to Sheriff's Office

Posted: March 17, 2009

SANDY -- On Feb. 25, 2009, the Rose City Corvettes (RCC) club presented the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office with hundreds of stuffed animals -- mostly teddy bears -- and blankets.

The Sheriff’s Office uses teddy bears and blankets when working with children who have suffered a traumatic incident; it can help "break the ice" when police come in contact with children.

RCC is the single largest annual contributor of the teddy bears and blankets to the Sheriff’s Office. This is the fifth year in a row the club has chosen the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office to be the recipient of this amazing donation.

The presentation was held at Suburban Chevrolet in Sandy, Oregon. Suburban Chevrolet owner (and RCC sponsor) Nancy Jaksich and RCC President Larry Duhrkoop presented the bears and blankets to Sheriff's Office Captain Kevin Layng.
