Plan for children, parks and open spaces by serving on the Clackamas County Parks Advisory Board

The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners (BCC) is seeking a volunteer interested in serving on the County Parks Advisory Board (PAB) for a four-year term.

One alternate member is needed for the northeast urban area, which encompasses Damascus, Clackamas, Happy Valley/Sunnyside and Rhododendron and Welches.

The purpose of the PAB is to represent all areas of the county in advising the BCC on all matters pertaining to County Parks policies, management, development, acquisition and disposition of park property and other significant matters related to park administration.

Major projects facing the PAB include upgrading of the Springwater Corridor Trail from Rugg Road to Dee Street in Boring, development of a trailhead park in Boring to serve the connection of the Springwater and Cazadero trails, the Barton Park ticket booth relocation project and the Madrone Wall park development. Additionally the PAB is involved in decisions related to upgrades of current facilities, acquisitions of property to enhance the County Park system and other park developments.

The PAB, which meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., is made up of nine regular members and three alternate members who serve four-year terms. Alternates may be appointed to fill board vacancies, and in the absence of regular members, have voting rights. All members are asked to attend all meetings. Both regular and alternate members are asked to attend all meetings.

Interested individuals need to complete an application form. Applications may be completed and submitted online via the County’s Web site at
