Saturday morning, Feb. 23 proved to be the start of a busy day for Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies: At at 5:30 a.m., they responded to a local hospital and an apartment complex to investigate a stabbing incident involving multiple subjects -- an incident that resulted in at least two male subjects being transported and treated for stab wounds.

The stabbing incident is believed to have occurred in Unit #101 at the Sunnyside Park Apartments (12345 SE Fuller Road, Clackamas).

At 5:30 a.m., deputies received word that 5-6 subjects had congregated outside the emergency room at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital as emergency-room personnel attended to two male stabbing victims associated with the gathered group.

The two male stabbing victims were eventually stabilized at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital and transported to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.

An additional male subject -- the described resident at the SE Fuller Road address -- walked into Providence Milwaukie Hospital seeking medical attention for unknown injuries received during an altercation that occurred inside his apartment on SE Fuller Road.

Sheriff's Office Detectives representing the Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit (HVCU) responded to investigate this stabbing incident.

Preliminary information reveals a party had been ongoing at this SE Fuller Road apartment -- attended by both males and females in their early 20s. At some point, one of the male subjects reportedly physically assaulted one of the females attending the party.

The female then reportedly summoned her brothers -- resulting in angry relatives of this female arriving at the apartment.

A physical altercation ensued between angry family members and the male subject who had reportedly assaulted the female. This confrontation resulted in two males receiving knife wounds.

The two male stabbing victims were taken by party attendees to Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital, while another male assault victim with non-life-threatening injuries was transported by fellow partiers to Providence Milwaukie Hospital.

The two stabbing victims are in their 20s; one remains in serious condition, and the other is in critical but stable condition.

Sheriff's Office Detectives responded to Milwaukie Providence Hospital and met with the male subject being treated as a patient -- and ultimately arrested him on two counts of Attempted Murder related to this stabbing investigation.

This male subject, in his early 20s, has been transported to Clackamas County Jail and lodged. Corrections officials are waiting for fingerprinting results to confirm identification of the subject in custody. As soon as appropriate confirmation is received, later today, this person will be identified publicly. (An update with this information can be found at the top of this release.)

Investigators are not presently at a point in the case to release the names of the subjects involved, or to release more details surrounding the event.
