CCSO CASE # 09-19560

On Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 10:42 p.m., a group of five males entered the Fred Meyer store located at 8955 SE 82nd Avenue (82nd & Johnson Creek) in Happy Valley. This group -- working together -- was witnessed by store security to gather an estimated $1,000 worth of Blu-Ray discs and depart the store without paying for this merchandise.

Surveillance still images of these suspects are linked above.

Store security responded by attempting to stop a male subject who was fleeing on foot across the Fred Meyer parking lot in possession of stolen Blu-Ray discs. However, one of the accompanying suspects intervened and threatened store-security personnel with a handgun -- prevented security personnel from recovering the stolen merchandise and arresting the theft suspect.

No gunshots were fired and no one was injured during this armed confrontation with store security.

This armed robbery was reported to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and the Portland Police Bureau, who responded.

At 10:48 p.m., a member of this suspect group was stopped by Portland Police when he was observed walking near the intersection of SE 82nd and Clatsop. The suspect was taken into custody and lodged at Clackamas County Jail.

None of the additional suspects were located or apprehended.

This apprehended suspect is identified as Consuegra Carlos Gonzales, age 17. He provided no permanent address. (A mug-shot photo is linked above.)

Gonzales has been lodged in Clackamas County Jail on the charge of Robbery in the First Degree -- a Measure 11 criminal offense.

Gonzales is scheduled to make his first court appearance on this matter today (Thursday, June 25, 2009) at 3 p.m. in the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon City.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's is aggressively attempting to identify the additional at-large suspects involved in this brazen armed robbery. They are featured on the above-linked surveillance images. Details:
