The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested a 16-year-old Gladstone youth in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred last night (July 16) outside a Taco Bell restaurant on SE McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukie.

This afternoon (July 17), Sheriff's Office Detectives located the suspect -- Christopher E. Martinez, Jr., 16, of Gladstone -- and peacefully took him into custody.

Investigators praise witnesses to the stabbing who came forward with information. These leads led to the identification and apprehension of Martinez.

A 34-year-old male was stabbed in the neck after a verbal and physical (pushing) confrontation erupted in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on McLoughlin. The 34-year-old stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital, and later released with stitches.

Martinez was photographed and fingerprinted at the Clackamas County Jail, then lodged in the Donald E. Long Detention Center in Portland. Martinez is charged with Assault in the First Degree.

All investigative reports are being submitted to the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for consideration for prosecution.
