Sheriff's Office makes arrests during nationwide 9th-annual family-violence apprehension detail

Over 100 law-enforcement agencies across the nation joined forces today in support of the 9th-annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail.

The SWEEP is an annual, day-long event in which agencies across the United States attempt to serve outstanding family-violence warrants.

Today's local effort involved over 35 law enforcement officers from eight local agencies.

These agencies attempted to serve over 114 domestic-violence warrants in the tri-county area.

Six people were arrested and booked at the Clackamas County Jail on domestic-violence charges including Sex Abuse, Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Strangulation and Prostitution.

National results will not be available until tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 20).

Today (Wednesday, Oct. 19) law-enforcement partners across the country will join forces for the 9th-annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail -- also known as the "DV Warrant Sweep."

The SWEEP is a day-long event, in which agencies across the United States attempt to serve outstanding family-violence warrants.

Last year's SWEEP was a big success:

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT) founded the SWEEP nine years ago under the supervision of then-Detective Craig Roberts.

Now-Sheriff Craig Roberts will kick off the local briefing tomorrow (Oct. 19) for the 9th annual SWEEP.

Tomorrow's local detail will include the following local law-enforcement agencies:
