Press release from: Clackamas County Sheriff's Office
Open house set for Happy Valley Community Policing Center on Aug. 4
Posted Tuesday, July 28, 2009
An open house for Happy Valley's new Community Policing Center will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 12915 SE King Rd. (the old Happy Valley City Hall, now the Community Policing Center).
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office provides police services to Happy Valley under a "contract city" arrangement. Happy Valley Mayor Rob Wheeler, Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts and Undersheriff Dave Kirby and Matt Ellington will be present for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony around 4:30 p.m.
Representatives from the Sheriff's Office SWAT and K-9 units will be on hand, and the public can get a look at the Sheriff's Mobile Command Post. Attend the open house, then head to your local "National Night Out" celebration!
As noted in the July 2009 City of Happy Valley newsletter (PDF format): The former City Hall at 12915 SE King Road now houses the Happy Valley Police Department. The replicated 1890 Rebstock house once served Happy Valley as its City Hall; with a new facade and interior restructuring, the building will now house the Community Policing Center. Deputies will be able to complete reports, make callâbacks and assist citizens at this location. The public is welcome to tour this facility during the open house.
Happy Valley’s Community Service Officer will be on duty Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For more information on the open house, contact Sgt. Erin Brisben of the Happy Valley Police at 503/760-0123 ext. 101.
