On Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at 1:13 p.m., a Multi-Agency Traffic Team (MATT) enforcement detail was being conducted in the vicinity of State Hwy. 212 and State Hwy 224, at 82nd Drive in Clackamas.

A female driver in a gold-colored Dodge Stratus with no passengers was observed committing a traffic violation in the area of SE 82nd Drive, and was in the process of being stopped by a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office motorcycle deputy. The female driver failed to yield to the deputy -- and immediately fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

The fleeing driver traveled southbound on I-205 from the State Hwy. 212 / State Hwy. 224 exit in Clackamas, then attempted a high-speed exit at the 82nd Dr. / Gladstone off-ramp.

The fleeing Dodge Stratus traveled up the ramp at a high rate of speed and across the intersection -- striking a large road sign and a concrete traffic median. This launched the vehicle airborne -- propelling it into a large embankment on the southwest portion of the intersection.

The pursuing motorcycle deputy recognized the vehicle was on fire and had ignited the dry grass on the hillside. The deputy came to the aid of the drive, telling her, "You have to get out this car now -- it is about to explode." (Video linked above.)

This female driver initially resisted the deputy's efforts to get her out of the car. However, the Deputy was finally able to gain control of the resisting female and remove her from the wreckage.

The total time from the start of attempted traffic stop to the crash was less than 2 minutes.

Clackamas Fire District #1 arrived on the scene to extinguish the blaze and successfully contained the grass fire on the hillside.

American Medical Response also arrived on the scene and attended to the immediate medical needs of the driver of the Dodge Stratus. This patient has since been transported to a local Portland hospital, and is reportedly in good condition.

Deputies determined this driver was wanted. The driver is identified as Nicole Renee Hudson, age 40, with a previous residential address in Boring, Oregon.

Renee Hudson was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest:

In addition, Renee Hudson has a suspended driver's license.

A Clackamas County deputy followed the ambulance transporting Nicole Hudson to the hospital while continuing to investigate.
