On Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives moved swiftly on information concerning a fugitive -- wanted for lewd conduct with a minor -- believed to have fled Boise, Idaho and possibly seeking refuge somewhere in Clackamas County.

On Friday morning (Jan. 14), a Boise, Idaho police detective contacted Sheriff's Office detectives, identifying Devin Lloyd Mitchell, 46, as a newly wanted person in Boise. Mitchell was believed to have fled Idaho in connection with a felony charge involving lewd conduct with a minor.

A Sheriff's Office Detectives Division supervisor began a law-enforcement database inquiry -- and recognized at least two potential residential addresses in Clackamas County where Devin Mitchell may be staying.

These addresses and warrant information were immediately conveyed to Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies. As a result, Devin Lloyd Mitchell was promptly located at the residential address of a relative on SE Coupland Road in Estacada.

Mitchell was taken into custody peacefully. He was then transported to the Clackamas County Jail and lodged on Jail with a Boise, Idaho charge of Lewd Conduct with a Minor Under 16. Bail is set at $100,000.

Idaho investigators were reportedly pleased with the quick response by the Sheriff's Office.

Mitchell is scheduled to appear on this matter on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon City.
