CCSO CASE NUMBER: #09-9615

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help as they hunt for a 25-year-old Oregon City resident, Shawn David Gelbrich -- a person of interest in the daring March 29 theft of a fully loaded cargo trailer from a Milwaukie residence.

A TRAILER IS STOLEN

At about 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2009, a suspect or suspects stole Farshad Ameripour's 2007 Interstate cargo trailer -- which contained thousands of dollars of uninsured merchandise -- from the front of Ameripour's residence, located at 5400 SE Kennedy Ct. in Milwaukie.

Mr. Ameripour told deputies he heard noises outside his house at approximately 6:40 a.m. He then reportedly saw his trailer leaving the area -- and told his wife, Sabrina Ameripour, to call 911 while he tried to follow the stolen trailer.

Mr. Ameripour was unable to locate the fleeing suspect or suspects who had hitched Ameripour's trailer to their vehicle.

Mr. Ameripour is a merchant at Saturday Market. His trailer was filled with hats and sunglasses, which he sells at the Market, as well as tablecloths, metal racks, miscellaneous tools and his saleskeeping record book. He estimated his losses -- including the trailer and merchandise -- at approximately $13,000.

TRAILER RECOVERED; DEPUTIES HUNT PERSON OF INTEREST

As a result of this extensive criminal investigation, Deputies have since recovered the trailer and most of the stolen merchandise. They also identified Shawn David Gelbrich as a person of interest in the case -- and are seeking the public's help in locating him.

Gelbrich lives in the Oregon City area, but may be frequenting other areas to avoid police contact.

Anyone with information on Shawn David Gelbrich's whereabouts is urged to call Clackamas County Dispatch at (503) 655-8211 or to contact us using the Sheriff's Office confidential Tip Line -- via phone at (503) 723-4949 or using the online e-mail form at www.clackamas.us/sheriff/tip.htm.
