Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking three citizen members to serve on the Community Action Board (CAB).

The CAB advises the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on issues concerning poverty. The Community Action Board includes members from the public, private and low income sectors.

Community Action Agencies address the causes and conditions of poverty. In Clackamas County, Community Action programs are operated through the County's Social Services Division.

As we move into uncertain financial times, ensuring that people in need have their basic needs met is more important than ever. Through membership you will help:

· Advocate both locally and at the state level for effective policies and funding to help the Community Action Agency achieve its mission

· Promote a greater understanding of poverty throughout the community

· Find solutions to reducing homelessness as leaders of the County's 10-Year Plan to Address Homelessness

If you have an interest in working on issues that affect people in poverty in your community, please consider applying for appointment to one of the vacancies on the Community Action Board.
