At approximately 5:11 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, members of the Clackamas County Inter-agency Task Force (CCITF) attempted to arrest a subject identified as Brett Timothy Bogart, 28, who possessed an existing Clackamas County issued felony arrest warrant for failure to appear for the charges of delivery and possession of methamphetamine.

At 5:11 p.m., CCITF investigators detected fugitive Brett Bogart parked in the Chevron gas station located on McLoughlin Blvd at Glen Echo in Gladstone. Two members of the CCITF approached the suspect vehicle in their patrol vehicles in an effort to contain Bogart and his female passenger.

Bogart allegedly used his vehicle to ram both the Task Force agent's vehicles and fled from the scene at a high rate of speed.

The Task Force agents involved were not injured during this criminal incident.

The vehicle used by Bogart during this assault is described as a silver 2006 Audi.

No video surveillance images exist from the Chevron station incident.

Additional CCITF personnel and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies began following the fleeing suspect vehicle as it traveled from Gladstone on McLoughlin Boulevard. Bogart reportedly continued fleeing south onto I-205, traveling north to the Park Place exit -- leading onto S. Redland Road and east to the intersection of S. Ridge Road.

Pursuing deputies reported that the suspect was traveling at an excessive rate of speed an estimated one-quarter mile in front of the pursuing market patrol units. Patrol units were often guided by citizens who pointed to the last known direction of the fleeing suspect vehicle.

At 5:25 p.m., a resident reported to dispatch that a vehicle had crashed into an open field at 20833 S. Redland Road. Reporting witnesses advised dispatchers that the subjects in the vehicle were observed fleeing on foot north from the crash scene.

Responding law-enforcement personnel moved quickly to establish a secure perimeter in the area of the crashed abandoned vehicle -- and summoned Sheriff's Office K-9 units to the scene for tracking purposes.

Concerned deputies broadcast information describing Bogart having been in possession of weapons in the recent past.

In addition, Oregon State Police responded and assisted in this search effort -- helping to block intersections in the immediate vicinity of the ongoing search. At one point, as many as 26 law-enforcement personnel were on-scene participating in this search effort.

At 5:50 p.m., Clackamas County deputies located the female passenger who fled from the residence with Brett Bogart. This female was found hiding near the residential address of 20662 S. Ridge Rd., and did not resist the deputy commands during this critical contact. Deputies also discovered this female to have lacerations to her face -- prompting deputies to summon medical personnel to the scene to attend to her inconsequential injuries.

Clackamas County deputies remained in the area, continuing the search effort, but were unable to locate Bogart. The search was suspended at 9 p.m., after the immediate area was thoroughly searched on foot.

Residents in this rural community can expect to witness a strong law-enforcement presence in the vicinity of this search for the remainder of the evening (Jan. 7, 2010).

Bogart has an established criminal history that includes assault and dangerous drugs.

The female involved in this particular incident is not presently in custody or charged with any crime. She is also not being identified by law enforcement.
