Law Enforcement District Budget Committee Members Sought

The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners is seeking two citizen members to serve three year terms on the Enhanced Law Enforcement Service District Budget Committee.

The district was formed by voters in the November 1994 general election and became effective July 1, 1995. Its purpose is to increase the level of sheriff's patrols to meet the increased demands of urban Clackamas County. It serves approximately 85,000 residents in the unincorporated areas of Clackamas County within the Urban Growth Boundary, as well as the City of Johnson City.

Applicants for the position must live within the unincorporated area of Clackamas County and within the Enhanced Law Enforcement District. If you are unsure whether you live within the District, call Kathleen Stewart at the number below. Some background in government and budgeting is preferred though not required. The Budget Committee generally meets once a year. This year's meeting is scheduled during business hours June 3, 2010.
