On Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at about 10 a.m., a lone male suspect armed with a handgun robbed the West Coast Bank located at 11690 SE 82nd Ave. in Clackamas.

A witness followed the fleeing suspect and was able to provide deputies with the color and license plate of the suspect vehicle leaving the scene.

Once that vehicle description was broadcast, a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office sergeant spotted the suspect vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop on that vehicle.

The suspect exited the vehicle with his hands in the air. The stolen money from the bank and a handgun were recovered.

The suspect was taken into custody without any further incident. There were no reported injuries to the tellers at the bank.

Deputies also recovered the suspects' dog in his vehicle. The dog was given to the Clackamas County Dog Control for care.

The suspect has been identified as RYAN NICHOLAS TAYLOR, age 27, transient. The suspect will be charged with Robbery I.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified and will be involved in the case at a later date. Bank Robbery is a Federal crime and the FBI has the primary investigative authority over this crime.
