The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting on S. Macksburg Rd. in Mulino. (UPDATE: The involved location has a Canby address.)
On Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at approximately 10:30 p.m., two deputies went to 13262 S. Macksburg Rd. in an attempt to take two persons into custody on arrest warrants issued on Feb. 27, 2009. These persons were believed to be at the S. Macksburg Rd. address. The warrants were related to a fall 2008 investigation of a marijuana grow.
When the deputies knocked on the door, a male reportedly came to the door armed with a firearm. A confrontation ensued, and the male was reportedly shot and killed. At approximately 10:39 p.m., deputies reported shots fired and a person down in the residence. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office SWAT-team members and detectives responded to the location.
After SWAT secured the residence, a female was removed and transported from the residence via ambulance due to medical issues unrelated to the shooting incident.
The female, Marjorie Crawford (D.O.B. 12-29-28), was arrested on outstanding warrants for Manufacturing, Delivery, and Possession of a Controlled Substance -- Marijuana. She is currently lodged in the Clackamas County Jail. Her photo is linked above.
The Clackamas County Medical Examiner came to the scene and took possession of the deceased person in the residence. The body has been transported to the Oregon Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The person's name will be released after positive identification is made and next of kin notified.
The deputies involved in the incident are uninjured, and have been placed on administrative leave per department policy. The deputies' names will be released at a later date, after they have been interviewed.
Arraignment for Ms. Crawford is set for March 5 at 3 p.m., via video, from the Clackamas County Jail.
The public information officer first responded to the area of the Arrowhead Golf Club to provide information and interviews, leaving the scene of the shooting incident at approximately 1 a.m. on March 5 and returning at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
