Sheriff's Office apprehends male suspect who fled deputies, crash scene

At 12:45 a.m. on May 20, 2009, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies located and arrested without incident the male suspect driver who fled from the scene after allegedly crashing a stolen automobile on Monday, May 18.

During the May 18 incident, the suspect driver reportedly struck an automobile and its citizen driver as the citizen was departing a driveway at the residential address of 6506 SE 92nd Avenue in Portland. This innocent victim was subsequently treated and released from a local Portland hospital.

The suspect believed responsible is presently in custody, and is identified as Colby Joseph Calhoun, age 29.

He was arrested overnight without incident at the residential address of 10297 SE Park Mountain Lane in Clackamas, then transported to Clackamas County Jail.

At the time of his arrest, Calhoun was observed to have dried blood on his ear and numerous scratches on his face and both arms. One lodged in the Jail, Calhoun was treated by a Jail nurse for his injuries.

Calhoun was lodged in Clackamas County Jail on the following charges:


Calhoun is scheduled to make his first appearance for his arraignment this afternoon (Wednesday, May 20, 2009) at 3 p.m. in the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon City.
