Sheriff's Office responds to fatal car crash in Mulino
Posted: Dec. 22, 2011, 8:47 p.m.
At approximately 6 p.m. on Dec. 22, 2011, deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and firefighters from the Molalla Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Union Mills Road near Ringo Road in Mulino, Oregon. The crash was reported by residents in the area who saw a vehicle off the road in a ditch.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters pronounced the driver -- the sole occupant of the vehicle -- deceased.
The area where the vehicle crashed was on a curve. The ditch where the vehicle was found is covered in heavy brush and a few trees, with a seasonal creek that flows through the area. Emergency workers checked the area to ensure there were no other injured people.
Deputies from the Sheriff's Office and a deputy medical examiner investigated the crash scene. At this point in the investigation, it does not appear alcohol or road conditions were a factor. It appears this crash may be related to either a medical problem the driver may have had or driver error.
The identity of the driver will not be released at this time because the next-of-kin have not been notified.
