Help promote tourism in Clackamas County by serving on the Tourism Development Council
The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners is seeking five citizens to fill vacant seats on the Tourism Development Council (TDC). The TDC serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Commissioners and is authorized to oversee and promote tourism for Clackamas County.
The TDC develops, adopts, and implements, subject to the Board of County Commission's approval, a Tourism Business Plan. The Business Plan addresses tourism, promotion, tourism development, conventions, visitor information services, and special events and festivals. A portion of the County's transient room tax, approved by voters in 1992, are allocated to projects and programs approved by the TDC in accordance with the Business Plan.
Commissioners are looking for applicants with a broad perspective and strong interest in implementing an effective, comprehensive tourism program for the County. The TDC meets monthly and council members spend approximately four (4) hours a month on council business.
