VEHICLE HITS ELDERLY PEDESTRIAN ON SUNNYSIDE RD. AND SE 97th AVE CLACKAMAS

CLACKAMAS -- The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating an injury accident in which a vehicle struck an elderly man at approximately 6:52 a.m. today (Feb. 5).
An elderly man was reportedly seen in the Days Inn at 9717 SE Sunnyside Rd, appearing confused. The man was reportedly not intoxicated -- but was said to have fallen down at least once in the motel.
The elderly man then wandered out of the motel onto SE Sunnyside Rd -- and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Sunnyside.
The man reportedly suffered injuries to his legs and head, and was transported to a Portland-area hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was not cited. At the time of the accident, visibility in the area was low and the roadway was not well-lit. The elderly male was said to be wearing dark-colored clothing.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has not identified the elderly male at this time. Further information may be released once it becomes available.
