WILSONVILLE -- On Sept. 11, 2008 at 5:25 p.m., a Wilsonville-assigned Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy was dispatched to assist fire personnel after 2-year-old boy fell out a second-story window at the residential address of 11010 SW Wilsonville Road, #104, in Wilsonville.

The father of the injured child -- Allen Riskendahl, 29 -- was on-scene.

Investigators report that the injured 2-year-old and his older brother, 4, had apparently been playing by themselves in an upper-level bedroom at the time of the incident. The 4-year-old reports his younger brother was playing on a mattress next to the window and just disappeared.

The investigating deputy reports that the window from which the 2-year-old had tumbled was equipped with a screen that gave way under the child's force.

In the bedroom there was a 6-inch-thick mattress situated on the floor in front of the window. The window is approximately 12-16" above than the bedroom floor.

The child was reportedly conscious and breathing after tumbling from the second story window onto the landscaped portion of the complex.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue personnel attended to the child's immediate medical needs. He was then transported to a local Portland hospital for a medical assessment.
