Sheriff's Office responds to armed robbery of Sam's Restaurant in Monarch Hotel in Clackamas; tips sought

At 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, an armed robbery was reported at Sam's Restaurant in the Monarch Hotel (12566 SE 93rd Avenue, Clackamas).
The two armed male suspects fled the scene and no injuries were reported.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies converged on the scene to search for the robbery suspects, who had reportedly fled out the back door on foot in the direction of SE 93rd Ave..
A Sheriff's Office K-9 team responded to the crime scene in an effort to track the suspects. Deputies failed to locate the two armed robbery suspects.
The two armed robbery suspects are described as follows:
- African-American male adults
- 20 or so years of age
- 5'07" tall to 6'1" tall
- Medium builds
- Both suspects were wearing black ski masks and black jackets with hoods, baseball caps and black jeans.
- At least one handgun was used by the suspects during the robbery.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., the two armed-robbery suspects reportedly opened the rear exterior door of Sam's Restaurant in the Monarch. At the time of the robbery, only the bartender was present.
The robbery suspects took money from the cash register, and were last observed fleeing out the back door in the direction of SE 93rd Avenue.
Armed Robbery in the First Degree is considered a Measure 11-type felony in the State of Oregon.
This case will be forwarded to Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives for further investigation.
